Four-star 2014 tight end Jacory Washington (Westlake) discusses LSU/Alabama, as well as his most recent offer, plans for a visit this weekend, the playoffs and more inside...

Jacory Washington was present in Tiger Stadium Saturday night to watch the duel between LSU and Alabama.

"It was live," he said. "It was a real good time. I talked with Coach (Steve) Ensminger before the game, but he was the only coach I talked with; everybody was all over the place and I got there a little late.

"The crowd was crazy. I've never seen anything like it. Everybody stayed in their seats even during halftime; nobody left the game early."

What else stood out to Washington, the nation's third-ranked junior tight end?

"I noticed that Alabama threw to their tight end," he said. "The Bama QB, (A.J.) McCarron, and Jarvis Landry were impressive. Landry caught a fade on a play that looked like something I would do."

Washington added a new offer yesterday from Houston.

"I've been talking with Coach (Brandon) Middleton," he said. "We talked about the role I'd play in their offense, and how I could come in and play as a freshman. I'm probably going to ride over and visit Houston this weekend."

Westlake, 6-3 this year, is seeded No. 15 in the Class 3A playoff bracket. The Rams get a home game in the postseason opener vs. No. 18 St. Charles Catholic, the defending state champion.

"We need to run our stuff and do what we do," said Washington, who staked his team to an early lead vs. Crowley last Friday with a touchdown catch (Westlake went on to win, 49-35).

"Our running back gained 302 yards last week. We have a lot of weapons."
